You don't have to adopt to change a dog's life. Sometimes, all they need is a safe place to land.

Foster families are the heart of Golden State Great Pyrenees Rescue & Sanctuary. By opening your home to a rescued dog, you give them something a shelter simply can't — time, safety, love, and the chance to become who they were meant to be.

Our fosters help dogs rescued from overcrowded shelters, abandonment, neglect, and other difficult situations. Some need a quiet place to decompress. Others need help learning to trust, gaining confidence, recovering from medical care, or simply experiencing life in a home.

YOU PROVIDE THE HOME. WE SUPPORT THE JOURNEY.

As a foster, you help your dog:

Heal & Decompress
A safe home gives rescued dogs the time and security they need to recover physically and emotionally.

Learn & Build Confidence
Everyday experiences, routines, affection, and guidance help prepare them for life with their future family.

Find the Right Home
Nobody gets to know a rescue dog quite like their foster. What you learn about their personality and needs helps us make better, more successful placements.

Make Room for Another Life
Every foster home expands our ability to say YES when another dog needs us.

FOSTERING DOESN'T JUST CHANGE ONE LIFE.

When you take a dog out of a shelter, you also open a kennel for the next dog who needs help.

You become part of the reason another guardian gets a tomorrow.

BE THE SAFE PLACE BETWEEN THEIR PAST AND THEIR FOREVER. ❤️
