Some guardians protect homes, not herds

Not every livestock guardian dog is suited for the field — some are happiest by your side. These rescued Great Pyrenees and LGD breeds have gentle temperaments and thrive as loving family companions.

Each dog is health-checked, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. Some are currently in foster homes, so while they may not have been temperament tested by our staff, their foster families provide valuable insights about their behavior in home settings.

By adopting, you’re saving a life and helping us continue our mission to protect both dogs and livestock through responsible placement.

Shelby

3 year old - Great Pyrenees - Female - Spayed

Shelby

Shelby is a beautiful 3-year-old female with a heart of gold and a resume to match! Unlike many of our rescues, Shelby is a strictly indoor pet—she is much more interested in a cozy rug and your company than guarding a flock.

Sadly, Shelby’s past has been a bit of a whirlwind. She has spent her life being shuffled between small spaces and temporary homes, never quite finding the "steady" she deserves. Despite the inconsistency, she has remained a social butterfly. Shelby is excellent with cats and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her an easy addition to almost any household.

She is looking for a forever family that can provide the one thing she’s never had: stability. Her ideal home is a home where she can finally unpack her bags for good and be a beloved member of the family. Is your couch calling Shelby’s name?
