This is where instinct becomes experience. Our Intermediate Guardian Program focuses on adolescent LGDs — the “teenage phase” where guidance matters most. We shape reliable, independent working dogs through advanced livestock work, predator exposure, and precision recall training.

Program Includes:

  • Intensive training with multiple livestock species

  • Boundary and recall work

  • Problem behavior correction (roaming, chasing, barking)

  • Exposure to real predator pressure (coyotes, birds of prey, stray dogs)

  • 24/7 monitoring, progress notes, and handler feedback

  • Veterinary oversight, spay/neuter if applicable

Training starting at $8,000 | Duration: 6–12 Months

Outcome: Graduates can work reliably under supervision, maintaining calmness and focus under pressure.

ROI Advantage: Properly trained working LGDs deliver measurable returns — cutting predator losses by 40–70% on average.

Ruby’s Journey

Ruby's parents were rescued while her mom was pregnant and she delivered here with us. 3 out of 7 survived so she's a strong and special girl. She has been training to be a livestock guardian dog from birth. She has grown up around sheep, goats, poultry, waterfowl, and cats, showing strong natural instincts and steady progress. She is still a teenager and requires reminders from time to time. She doesn't get along with other females and she hates leashes.

Ruby is bright, playful, a little sassy, and full of personality. She loves water, gets along with male dogs, and cats. She is on track to become an excellent livestock guardian dog.

Gus

Born March 2025, Male, Great Pyrenees

Gus’s Journey
Gus and his littermates were surrendered to a rescue (not us) when they were just puppies. Some dogs tell you exactly where they belong—and this handsome boy made it clear: rural living is his element. He struggled in a residential neighborhood, not because he was “bad,” but because he was born to work, watch, and lead. Once he arrived here, everything about him changed for the better.

He carries all the hallmarks of a true livestock guardian in the making: confidence, awareness, and a natural instinct to manage his surroundings. He likes to be the ruler of his roost, but in a balanced, respectful way. And with animals? He’s been a star. Sheep, goats, poultry—he’s doing wonderfully with all of them.

He’s well-behaved, intelligent, and takes his environment seriously. All he needs now is the right home to help him reach his full potential.
